Rotation invariant multi-frame image super resolution reconstruction using Pseudo Zernike Moments
نویسندگان
چکیده
The purpose of multi-frame super resolution (SR) is to combine multiple low resolution (LR) images to produce one high resolution (HR) image. The major challenge of classic SR approaches is accurate motion estimation between the frames. To address this problem, fuzzy motion estimation method has been proposed that replaces value of each pixel using the weighted average of all its neighboring pixels in all LR images. However, in case of rotation between LR images, comparing the gray level of blocks is not a suitable criterion for calculating the weight. Hence, magnitude of Zernike Moments (ZM) has been used as a rotation invariant feature. Considering the more robustness of Pseudo Zernike Moments (PZM) to noise and its higher description capability for the same order compared to ZM, in this paper, we propose a new method based on the magnitude of PZM as a rotation invariant descriptor for representing the pixels in the weight calculation. Also, due to the fact that the phase of PZM provides significant information for image reconstruction, we propose a new phase-based PZM descriptor for SR by making the phase coefficients invariant to rotation. Experimental results on several image sequences demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms other currently popular SR techniques from the viewpoint of PSNR, SSIM and visual image quality. & 2015 Elsevier B.V. متن کاملA Collaborative Nonlocal-Means Super-resolution Algorithm Using Zernike Monments
Super-resolution (SR) with probabilistic motion estimation is a successful algorithm to circumvent the limitation of motion estimation upon conventional superresolution methods. However, the algorithm can’t match similar patches with rotation or scale. This paper presents an efficient improved algorithm by introducing Zernike moments as representation of image invariant features into similarity...
متن کاملQuaternion Bessel-Fourier moments and their invariant descriptors for object reconstruction and recognition
In this paper, the quaternion Bessel-Fourier moments are introduced. The significance of phase information in quaternion Bessel-Fourier moments is investigated and an accurate estimation method for rotation angle is described. Furthermore, a new set of invariant descriptors based on the magnitude and the phase information of quaternion Bessel-Fourier moments is derived. Experimental results sho...
متن کاملImage description with generalized pseudo-Zernike moments.
A new set, to our knowledge, of orthogonal moment functions for describing images is proposed. It is based on the generalized pseudo-Zernike polynomials that are orthogonal on the unit circle. The generalized pseudo-Zernike polynomials are scaled to ensure numerical stability, and some properties are discussed. The performance of the proposed moments is analyzed in terms of image reconstruction...
متن کاملInvariant Feature Extraction from Fingerprint Biometric Using Pseudo Zernike Moments
To represent the large amount of data in the biometric images an efficient feature extraction method is needed. Further biometric image acquisition is subject to deforming processes such as rotation, translation and scaling. Hence it is also required that the image representation be invariant to the deformations and sustain the discriminating features. Considering the trade off between the disc...
